I'm a Christian, I have no problem with homosexuals, I have no problem with tattoos, I actually have two myself and counting. I don't hate anyone for their choices and I believe in coexistence. The only people I truly dislike are the people who are choosing to bring pain to others. :P but yea, I pretty much love everyone, especially my fellow funnyjunkers! :)

related true story: i was walking down the street with my elderly grandmother when we came across some westboro baptist church "god hates fags" people. my grandmother trots up to them and politely explains to them why she believes that jesus was gay. their faces turned shades of purple i have never seen before. i love my grandmother.

This is something that annoys the hell out of me. When someone claims to be a Christian and uphold the word of the Bible, but barely knows anything about Christianity.
I have no problem with Christians or any other religions for that matter, I just hate it when people act ignorantly like this. It gets to me

I really don't get the logic, so this example of natural selection failing gets a tattoo about an old bible passage forbiding homosexuality, who the fuck is he going to show it to?? Is he going to go round showing gays his upper arm all his life or just look for approval from his redneck mouthbreathing cousins?

Easy solution to gay marriage: Get rid of "marriage" entirely. Seeing as marriage is a purely religious concept, and we're supposed to have separation of church and state, there should be an entirely different term and legal status for couples under a "civil union." Whether you're gay or straight, this civil union would allow one to share their insurance and tax benefits without even touching on religion. Then, each couple can find a church and ordained minister who is willing to "marry" them in an entirely separate process. If the church/minister doesn't want to marry gay people, then they don't have to; those gay people can find a different church that will. Or, if they so choose, they could just take the legal civil union and forget about the religious ceremony altogether.

I like how these dumbasses so often quote the abomination passage, and don't realize that it's in the exact same part of the bible that condones rape, slavery and murder. Then they say something like "Yeah but that's all old testament stuff, it's irrelevant today" without realizing the only credible mentions of homosexuality in the bible is in the old testament....
