Leviticus 20:13
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
This is why, it's right there in the Bible. Apparently God does hate gays.

well God doesnt hate gays he hates homosexuality
he doesnt hate murderers, he hates murdering
see what I am gettin at? Every sin according to God is equally as disgusting and worthy of death. "For the wages of sin are death" It is hard to comprehend such cruel judgement on such petty sins but any ounce of evil in God's book is worthy death. He loves all people infinitely just not what they do sometimes

Homosexuality isn't a choice so he apparently hates them for something they don't have control over? You seriously should look up battered person syndrome or Stockholm syndrome because that's exactly what you sound like. Sins are equal to death? Yeah okay that's a sign of a god that " loves all people infinitely" If he was real he could just get rid of evil all together.

that is debatable that homosexuality is a choice. They may be born with a disposition to homosexual tendencies but they still can fight it. Just like those born fat, they can still escape that through exercise and will power.
God is also a God of wrath not just a God of love... also he actually doesnt love those who die as an atheist, he says that is the only unforgivable sin. and He could get rid of evil, and he will. Just hasn't happened yet.
TL;DR this will make no sense to you, it barely does to me, Gods ways are outside human understanding

Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Long story short: Leviticus is in the first part of the bible, and Jesus in the second.
And that particular expert you're quoting there is actually part of a moral code set down BY MAN for a certain region.

Classic religious cherry picking. "Oh you're supposed to follow the second half, not the first half! Except for those things in the first we still like of course!" It's either all of it or none of it, pick one.

The coming of Jesus in the bible created a new era of change in the way the old religion was run. That's why it's called the "Old" Testament, and the New Testament is basically a modification to the old.I could get a quote, but I haven't touched a bible in years.
So let me get you an example. Before Jesus, people were being sent to hell left and right, no warning. After Jesus, those people had a chance, as Jesus taught them the way to his father. In Christianity this way is supposed to be followed in order to enter heaven, whereas the old ways were considered sinful. That being said, the HISTORICAL parts of the Old Testament, and the HISTORICAL references it makes, are still to be kept as part of the entire book.

you see, i would start a smart conversation about christianity and about the message that Jesus told us, but it would take too much time and energies from me...
anyway i think that wbc have nothing to do with christianity (it's a fact that someone called Jesus of Nazareth lived about 2000 years ago, if you believe he was the Son of God it's ok, if you don't it's ok too): everyone is a sinner in his/her own way, but if you're a christian you should love him before condamn him for his sins.
It's like J. C. was a brony: he told to love and tolerate...

yeah i agree. i never understood why people think Christianity is such a hateful religion. Christians have such horrible representation because only the retarded "Christians" get publicity i.e Westboro Baptist Church.
Jesus was all about love and peace and honoring fellow man and he called Christians to be as loving as possible to everyone including gays/atheist. Anyone who spreads hate through Christianity is not a Christian

You've got that representation because, at one time, Christianity WAS a hateful religion that killed a lot of innocent people in the name of Witchcraft, among other offenses, until society got sick of you and made you all villains because of past mistakes. Now, I agree you're a bit more tolerant, but there's still hundreds of "Christians" who fling hate speech around like a monkey with access to fecal matter.
That's why retarded Atheists never get publicity (like real Christians), but show the media an Atheist in trouble and it's suddenly martyr (or anti-martyr?) time.

wow, christians are stupid eh?
Louis Pasteur, Gregor Mendel, Wernher von Braun, Galileo Galilei, Joseph Lister, Johannes Kepler, Michael Faraday, Robert Boyle, Carolus Linnaeus and C.S Lewis beg to differ.
and not to bash atheists because i also respect them, but you guys also believe stuff people tell you. unless you personally did all the research to formulate the big bang and evolution...

Psst. You're not getting thumbed down because you're an atheist in a community of christians. You're getting thumbed down because you're acting like the very annoying, psychotic religious people you despise (not saying all religious people are, just the ones Athiesm lives to argue with), only with atheism. And you're giving us a bad name in doing so.
Please shut the fuck up or get another belief system.

we wave it around like it is correct because we think it is correct... and I wouldn't go as far as to say that there is absolutely no proof of His existence. Creation itself is pretty awesome. I mean DNA and RNA and all aspects of the human body are so complex and perfectly formulated it just all works perfectly.
The big bang is kind of like expecting a tornado to rummage through a dumpster and expecting it to create a Boeing 747 if you ask me.
