Chuckaholic (05/24/2012) [-] Because shooters haven't become war shooters now. They aren't even the same Genre, you're comparing an Arcade style game to a war game. Compare Goldeneye to modern shooters, better but much more similar, Also Battlefield maps aren't that linear I'd say, also Crysis.

For one, MW2 is a war shooter, of course enemies aren't going to vary. Also, what type of boss battle would there be. If you compared to doom to halo, then their would be a variety of enemies. Honestly, that compare/contrast picture is BS. Im not saying i love COD, but that is picture is just exaggerating.

It's a singleplayer game with multiplayer elements. Although I will agree with you that there should be a localplay feature (I think the previous Diablo titles had it).

One time I was playing as a Gnome Priest and I had to tank because all the other players were pussies. Our warrior was saying he didn't want to go in first OOC all the time because he doesn't want to die. We've never invited him to play again.
Next time we play classic D&D I'm being a Sauren(Dinosaur Humanoid).

One time my blood soaked friend convinced an entire castle of bandits that the blood on him was from one of the captive girls' "first time" and then proceeded to have mead and sing with them...he rolled back to back 20's.

My entire party built a make-shift raft to go across a lake... but instead of taking the raft, I decided to try moon-walking across the water, carrying the Goliath Barbarian like a princess, and juggling rainbow fireballs with my tongue. I got 1/3 across the lake before I failed a roll! XD I ******* love D&D!

I don't know why everyone complains about this. Requiring the internet is hardly an inconvenience and it saves Blizzard a bunch of money. The only way it affects paying customers apart from the errors the first couple days is that they have to spend 4 seconds every time they want to play.
Just think of the game as a multiplayer game with a huge single player component because that's what it is. When they have PvP, co-op, and AH, it's a multiplayer game. Also, censorship for IGNs is implemented in almost every single multiplayer game.

Silver Quantum (05/24/2012) [-] well you've got a point (somewhat), but it's gonna be a a pretty big pain in the balls to make pirate servers for this game. and even if they do manage somehow to make a stable server, the game is going to be so buggy, that'll strip all of the enjoyment out of playing. besides, they would would have to remake those servers again and again and updated once blizzard gets a hold of them.

They think requiring a constant connection to the server will prevent people from pirating it because they don't realize that the game is just lines of code, and you can just edit that **** out so you can play single player without the game checking if you are connected to the server...

The real-money auction house is why they changed it. They want to secure themselves against someone hacking/modding themselves to have piles of high-end weapons and armor to sell on the auction house.
