Actually, small and, especially, young spiders spin a "parachute" thread that enables them to be carried by the wind, sometimes for hundreds of kilometers.

But they can't fly. They just float with style. Could you imagine a spider the size of a quarter flying towards you? or landing on your face? In your ear?
