I don't get why everyone hates this song, is it now considered that everything teenage girls love is bad? I think it's catchy, and everyone is over reacting about it. One Direction and Justin Bieber should be the only concern, oh and nicki minaj

It's too 'pop-py' for me. It's just annoying. I remember when my mate showed me the song before it became really popular and even then I was like "What the **** is wrong with you?"

It's not just because of the popularity of it that makes me hate it, I hated it before it got popular (trying to say that without sounding a hipster), the popularity has made it worse though. Hearing every drunk ****** sing it gets annoying after a while.

It's terrible. Yes it's catchy. But it's just a song made to sell and make some easy money from people that buy into whatever is thrown at them. I prefer music that has a depth to it. Music that means something. People are forgetting that music is art. The lyrics to this song are so bad.

If it's catchy and it makes you move, it's music, IMO at least.
I don't judge anyone's taste in music, as long as they have some way to justify it. I personally hate rap, because of many reasons, I dislike the whole "rapping" thing, I generally don't approve of the lyrics (this isn't always the case), and I find there to very rarely be a good beat to it.
My girlfriend listens to rap all the time, and that's because she doesn't care for the lyrics, just the way the beat works.
People have different tastes in music, and they discern between music in different ways.
I'd say that if it makes my feet tap by itself and puts a smile on my face then it's worth listening to, unless it has some seriously atrocious lyrics. I quite like the song that the content is about, it's far from a favourite, but it's on my spotify playlist, it's just a nice little tune.

All of this could be slightly influenced by the fact that I'm an avid dancer... If I can dance to it, I like it :D

Wow this was long and ill-structured.. I should stop writing comments when I'm half asleep...

they aren't that bad, and yeah, music is art, I like the beat, not the words. There is some art involved in it

Okay yeah effort went into creating the music and melody. It just annoys me what's popular these days and what most teenagers think is great music. It annoys me that music without much creativity behind it gets top promotion. And it's only getting worse. Kids are growing up thinking this is what music is about.
