OB's Story pt 2

Day 144
I think I need to go. I need to Finto a place to go to, to get away from him. he' s
slightly slower than before I mut, but he has become aware of my presence.
I was looking through the hole in my boarded window to make sure none of
those monsters were around. I am running out of food so I have to go out.. t' s
so dangerous but I have to. Anyway, as I was saying, he saw me looking
through the hole in the boards.
He knows I' m here and I Fear the worst. I think he will come, and from what I
saw. he' ll bring more...
Day 147
It' s been a few days since I saw John. Maybe he remembered that we were
friends? Maybe I' m delusional from the 2 day lack offend. I ran out the day
alter my last entry. I' m almost out of water though, so I feel the time has
come to venture.
The last time I saw any other noninflected human was the day John was
killed. There is nobody left in my neighborhood that I can see, but hopefully
somewhere else, somewhere... West of here, I can Fatt some more people
just like me.
The only thing I' m afraid of now is running into those things on their playing
field.
Day 161
I haven' t written in a while, so I have a few things to write.
About 3 days ago I saw John 'm sure it was him. or maybe it wasnt I
don' t know anymore, all I know is that it looked like what used to be him. He was
slightly less- colorful and a lot slower than he used to be. He was still carrying
that spatula though which leads me to believe it was.
He was eating someone in an suv. It looked like they were still alive but from
what I' seen before, that means that they won' t be for long... and I guess they
won' t really be dead for long either.
I think they are getting weaker as they decay. Their muscles seem to be thinner
and their laces a little more gaunt. They move slower and slower with every
passing day. With the low food supplies, so do I.
T pages of the book are tom, unreadable or completely
out of the book between these two entries. Next entry
is nearly 30 days from the last.
Day 189
I know this is strange, but I kind of felt more a friend of John' s once he became one
of them. Shame...
I know it' s been a couple days since I' written, but I have been studying these
things nonstop. They deteriorate so much that they Just fall and never get up again. I
saw one, his Jaw was hanging there hall on of his lace. He stopped For a moment and
the Jaw d lodged and fell to the ground almost shattering. Then he Just kept going
like nothing had happened.
I' m starting to understand these creatures but I think they are starting to understand
a few things themselves. They are no longer traveling alone like me. They arent
grouping in pairs or even Fours. They are in larger groups now. I saw at least 10 of
them in a pack hunting a woman yesterday. she needed help but there was no way I
could help her without anything at my disposal. I can' t get that image out of my
head... she screamed For help, she needed me. And I couldn' t help her.
They ripped out her eye and one of them ate it while the others tore the flesh and
muscle on of her bones. I watched as they ripped her apart and all I could do was
wait. By the time I checked on her alter they' d moved on, she was dead. All I lound
in her beat up Chevy was 3 bottles of water. hot much help if you ash me.
Day 190
Yesterday I sat down for a meal in the back or a beer truck. Too bad the beer had
already been scavenged. But as it was, I was eating the last of my food when I
heard a noise outside. Thank God it was only a small cat but it was good that it
had come along. I was running low on food.
I also saw that woman. she saw me but I outran her and I haven' t seen her m
yesterday. 'm about 4 miles from where she was so I think I should be sale. I Fear
that they are getting smarter. Just yesterday I saw them in that pack of 10 or
so. Today, I saw an even larger group and they had busted the side door and
window M a caravan and lound a dead man inside. He must have starved because
there was nothing in there when I checked alter them. They made their way down
the road under a bridge where they stopped for a moment and looked back. I
ducked into the van and hid for a moment. When I looked out, they were gone.
Hopefully they weren' t sneaking back. That would mean they are even more
intellegent than before.
THERE IS NO DAY NUMBER ON THIS ENTRY-
They followed me. They followed me into the city. 1 5, maybe 20 of them.
They had me surrounded. I got out, but not without a few Bruises and a gash
on my Forearm, I had tstump on or a small building. These things
learning, they are putting it to use. They grouped up and pinned me between
them and the edge or the bui ing.
I need sleep. I have to recover.
Before I sleep I want to record that I heard a radi broadcast today. It was
on in an abandoned car. They said there is a small allege of survivors about
so miles from here, in Chicago. I might as well try to make my way over
there. It should only take me a few days. But I am getting so tired and my
arm is burning. I think I need to find an old pharmacy to get some medicine.
Day 211
Alter I round that pharmacy, I lound food. LOTS offend. That pack of
monsters hasn' t caught up with me yet, but I lost a few days on the hike to
Chicago. I had to stop for a rest about 2 days ago an

Day 213
I' m writing from inside an institution, it looked like an old lab. I' m in an
office right now. I came in through the side door to make sure there
was nothing in here. I only saw one body and he looks like he' s been
dead for a few weeks now, so I don' t think he' ll be coming back.
He was a security officer though, so I had the chance to take his
pistol. There looks like there is a few rounds left so I should be sale For
a few days.
However I was wrong. They are out there. They are in this bui ing and
they are looking For anyone left. I' locked this door but I haven' t put
anything in front M it because I need something to hide behind. one M
them tried to get in but couldn' t break the glass in the upper part or
the door. These ones don' t seem as slow though, this place must have
just been affected. They are moving slightly slower than I do but they are
everywhere.
I need to get out of here. I need to get to Chicago.
