What you're describing appears to be extremist Christians.
I am not an extremist, and am happy not shoving my religious belief down other's throats. I respect people's right to believe whatever they want, or nothing at all. I mean come on... 1st amendment covers freedom of religion, the second we stop forcing our beliefs on others the better.
The bible tells me to tell people about good new; we aren't going to burn.
That's the only message I would like to spread. (mostly to undo the damage caused by the extremists saying people will burn)
As for the bit about proof or not, neither side has proof that the other will believe, so I just let it be.
I'm also 99% sure that the second you come up with good evidence one way or the other, everybody will continue to not give a shit and argue their side.

2. as a teenager myself, i had come to conclusions about the nonexistence of god before even knowing about some of the arguments. In my sixth grade mind, i had thought "if god is omnipotent, could make a taco so spicy he couldn't eat it" before i heard the exact same thing in the form of the boulder. Reading the bible has made me come to an even greater sense of sureness about the nonexistence of god. I think nowadays kids are more easily exposed to the arguments for atheism and, now that evolution is being taught more readily in school than it used to, teenagers are coming to this conclusion easier. i don't know, just what i see.

I'm an atheist because my father was forced to be Catholic growing up, and he didn't want me to be forced into it, so when I was four he told me I could choose my religion, or none at all. I had no clue about any of that yet, other than the basic idea of what God was, so decided none. When I was 10 or so I looked at it. I learned some science and figured well, this God guy just doesn't seem logical. Granted, in times of despair, I tended to turn to him anyway, because fuck, I'm a hypocrite and I needed SOMETHING to give me hope that things might get better in the long run, but all in all I think it's plain to see that it's not a logical thing to believe in. But, the thing is, that's what makes it faith. You can't prove he exists, yet you believe in him anyway. So, I don't mind if someone is religious in any way. In the Bible, God says if he proved he existed, it wouldn't be faith, and without faith, he's nothing. I actually do take that line and apply it to myself. If a religious person has faith in God, their outlook will be positive, so things may seem to go their way, and they'll notice the good things more often, stop being so negative, and actively try to improve their own life as a result, knowing good things can come instead of being a pessimist. I tend to keep a positive outlook because that actually does make sense.

TL;DR, Given choice by dad, not religious, encourage openmindedness towards religion, religion's basic philosophies are actually logical.
