When are people on both sides going to realize that most of these "rules" are choices? No one requires you to marry and support your spouse ( which by the way, if you feel the relationship is a struggle or a burden you probably shouldn't be in it) , like no one requires you to try and make yourself appear younger. Everything is based on social standards and stereotypes that could change if no one brought it up every five minutes. (standards that were created by men, just by the way)
