In my country (UK) our gcse grades go A, B, C, D, E, F. i dont get it? i thought that was the case for all countryies, guess i did wrong

In my country (which is Romania), we have grades from 10 to 1, 10 being the highest grade.

In our primary phase we have 1-8 (8 being the highest) then we switch to letter grading once we do our GCSE's
