I'm a Christian, I don't think being gay is right in God's eyes, but it's no different from any other sin. I think it's fine for the government to allow it, but as long as they don't interfere with whether or not a church, mosque, or temple allows gay marriages. At the very least they could be married under the State.
Other sins are lying, shaving, not being circumcised, lusting, masturbating, feeling hatred toward somebody, stealing, eating pork.
All sin is the same, those things all the way to the extremes like rape and murder. Shut up and stop assuming I'm saying it's a terrible thing. I'm saying it's the same as all the other shit we do on a daily basis, that nobody thinks is wrong.

Dude, that's a list of some sins that most everybody ignores. I'm just saying that sin is sin. If you are imperfect, then you're not perfect. Doesn't mean you're a terrible person, I'm just saying in God's eyes, either you're perfect, or not. And news flash, nobody's perfect. That was the whole point of all those laws. To show that we aren't perfect, but that we can still be forgiven. I'm saying gay people are the same as Mother Theresa, and the same as me.
I'm just saying what my beliefs say. I don't see why everybody's thinking I'm hating on gays. I'm saying they should be allowed to marry, but if a religious establishment says that they don't believe it's right to marry a gay couple, then that should be that establishment's choice, and that the government shouldn't interfere with that.

You're kidding me right? People are saying Gays can't adopt because it puts kids in a spot where they learn weird things but its totally cool for a man to get drunk and beat the shit out of his wife in front of his kids, or its okay for a mom to get fucked up on the wacky tobaccy and lock her kids outside or in a closet? Oh yeah that's not as bad as 2 average joe guys raising a kid? If two guys want to get married then we have no rights to stop them. Oh and what if those two guys were atheist? Do they have to follow your crummy book too? Fuck off with your blabbing on about sins. If I can't go to "Heaven" because I looked at a woman and thought "Shes pretty hot." Then I don't want to go there.
Did I ever say any of that stuff is okay? Or did I ever say that you're a terrible person for lusting? No, we all commit sins, that's why Christians believe in Jesus being a sacrifice. All it is is being imperfect, which all of us are. You, me, Mother Theresa, Hitler, the guy down the street with a limp who collects stray cats, the local priest, the local drug dealer, and the guy in the gas station by your house. They're all imperfect, and none of them deserve heaven. It's not something you earn. That's the point of Christianity.
And I said that it should be legalized. Why don't you read my comments before getting your knickers in a knot? I said the government should legalize it, but unlike some countries, it shouldn't force religious establishments (such as a mosque or a church, or a synagog or a temple) to marry them together, without being arrested or fined. I'm saying it should be legal in all the states. But if they want to get married in a church by a pastor or priest, then that pastor or priest should be allowed to stick by what they think is moral and gracefully decline.

No. I don't think it's genetic. There's too much evidence showing it's a hormone thing. But I don't think it's a choice either, unless it's just some teenager trying to go against the social norm as a phase. But people who are actually gay, it's not a choice. Nor is it a demon.
I hate people who think like that. My question always is..."If they have a whole different religion or are atheist do they have to do that?" I don't get religion. They always preach love and tolerance but then pull this shit.

i think nothing has to do with anything. there are atheist gays, atheist straights, christian gays, christian straights, gay supporting christians, atheist supporting gays, gay supporting atheists, atheists who are homophobic, the list goes on and on. my thing is, "Don't doubt anything and do what will make the most people happy and the least people miserable."

It's called a "christian country", BUT unlike (example wise) the USA, Norway separates religion and politics. So it's not like in USA where they go "In god we trust". Here in Norway the country is ruled on moral standards and common sense, and not biblical jibberish.
+ We have free healthcare, education, welfare and our living standards are one of the highest in the world. AND in one part of Norway called Svalbard (separate from the mainland) we have motherfucking polar bears.

If you're going to dog our country at least get your facts right. America is NOT a Christian nation. "We are as much a Christian nation as we are Jewish or Islamic"- John Adams. The US is a secularist country. The "In God We Trust" was placed on the currency in the 1950s because Christian bankers used it as a chance to combat the "evil godless communists"
Do Republican Right Wing Assholes attempt to push Christian morality onto law? Yes they do. Does it stand federally? No it doesn't. Seeing as how abortion is still legal, gay marriage is legal in 9 states (and probably legal federally) and we still practice freedom of religion.
However the US is the only country that permits hate speech as free speech, and yes we are a country of 350 million people. Of course there are religious nut jobs, but the UK, Canada and Australia are actually WORSE than us, but we allow them to speak out.
A man got arrested in Canada for writing a news article attacking Muslims and now it is actually going to trial.
The US has the top hospitals and doctors where the majority of the people do have health insurance and even people without it can be treated at designated facilities without having to pay. We have free education too it's called PUBLIC SCHOOLS, we also have welfare and yeah you have better living standards. But even my state (Arizona) has a bigger population than you do.
You have polar bears, congrats. We have some of the most exotic species of animals, some of the most beautiful landscapes, some of the greatest land marks in the world. We are also #1 in scientific funding, GDP, Nobel Prize winners, space research/exploration and university level schooling.

I see now how you've may have assumed I was bashing America, but please. Why so butthurt? I was only taking America as an example as a country where the majority is of a christian belief of some kind. The part were I say that Norway "is ruled on moral standards and common sense, and not biblical jibberish" I'm not comparing it to America. And why do you feel the sudden need to claim your country so superior all of a sudden? I did not in any way dog America, I used it as an example with no offense.
But next time try to run a proper discussion instead of drawing these fast conclusions of that I am talking shit about others. And if so, don't go throwing shit back, like "you got polar bears? ooOOOOoohh, big deal, we have some of the most exotic animals on the planet.." Yes, so? America is almost a fucking continent, of course you guys have a rich animal life and awesome nature. And we up here in freezing Norway, we have polar bears on Svalbard - and I find that to be kind of cool and special. But all in all, you make good arguments.

I'm not butthurt I"m telling you to get your facts straight. And again you got your information WRONG dude. Guess what, if you're going to make a statement make sure that your evidence is supported by FACTS!
"UT unlike (example wise) the USA, Norway separates religion and politics. So it's not like in USA where they go "In god we trust". Here in Norway the country is ruled on moral standards and common sense, and not biblical jibberish."
Because you implied it you dumbass. Do you even re-read what you posted? Using America as an example completely demonstrates that you point is in comparison to the United States. Again the "So it's not like in the USA" again dude re-read what you write because you clearly need to. So yes you did dog us and even if you're attempting to claim that you didn't than you should learn to be more observant of what you write.
For a guy talking shit to tell someone not to talk shit, I find your response hypocritical

As I said I can see how you think I'm bashing out on America because of the way I wrote it in the first post. What I'm trying to tell you is that my goal with that comment was not trying to make America look like a religious conservative country, but explain to the dude why we allow gay marriage and still is considered a christian country. ONCE AGAIN: I wrote the first post in a misinterpreted way, I see that now. And finding it hypocritical, I can see that because you misunderstood the goal of my comment. I see no point in discussing this any further...
>nothing about the religion is messed up in anyway
..I didn't say it was, you shouldn't have to be so defensive if you think you're "Choosing the right" path in life. BWAHAH. But I live in Utah and.. yeah well, I'm not getting into it.

Haha, I have nothing against him, I just live in a very concentrated region of his "Christian" religion. I've been to every kind of worshiping centre there is and studied every holy book, so I find awkward claims to be amusing.
