Catholic Here:
Actually, belief is not as straight forward as that. Satan certainly believes in God, but he also certainly isn't in hell.
Also what about the Native Americans? And those who never had the ability to know God? We certainly hope God doesn't throw them in hell.

Honestly, we don't know what God has in plan. The one thing we do know, is that if you do follow Christ, your chances are better.

So yes, atheists possibly could get into heaven. I mean its God, he can do anything... But I would suggest belief any day, because we know for sure that is a better shot.

What if I don't want to go to heaven, what if I want to go to Valhall?

Then that is your business.

So he'll just tell my ass ''no''? Doesn't seem like a very nice God.

I have an idea more than a belief that everyone goes to what is heaven for them. So you would go to what seems like Valhall and I would go to wherever I want. Though being good to others never hurt.

You told him no in life? Right. Doesn't seem you want to be with him...

But according to christianity I'll go to hell if I don't believe in Him. Let's just assume that your God is the right one. Why did he put over 100 religions on Earth? Did do it just to test us? But if he did, shouldn't christianity be one of the failings? I mean it clearly wasn't the first religion. The egyptians, Asians had their religions long before the Bible, and let's not forget about the Jews, were they not allowed in heaven becasue they didn't believe in something that had not been invented yet?

Actually jesus doesn't say you will go to hell for not believing in him, that is an assumption, probably a good assumption, but not fully correct.

We only know that faith saves. "Your faith has saved you."

You seem to have the idea that God is this grand chess player who moves all pieces and controls what they think. I don't doubt god has the ability, but I honestly don't believe my God created those other religions. People are free to believe whatever they want. Including you, my God allows you to do so. It is your choice whether you want to be involved in my religion or not.

As for chronological reasons, sure there were other religions that were first, could they just be other interpretations of God? I don't know. Seems possible, I wouldn't be the first to think of the idea.

According to Catholic Theology, the Jews were actually not allowed into heaven originally. They had to have Jesus come into hell to take them there.

The worst punishment is not torture by the devil or the fire, but the lack of connection with God.

So you believe that multiple religions can be right? That they all have their own heaven?
User avatar #1649 to #1643 - nois **User deleted account** (05/15/2012) [-]
No, I believe one religion is correct, however, I can see how two people could interpret / or misinterpret such things.

Christians argue over the bible so much there were wars about it. And we are in the same religion.

Ok, fair enough. You believe what you want, thank you for not being like most other believers.
