Being gay I have always been conflicted about gay Marriage, on one hand I dont see why my anyone should interfere in my desicion whether to get married to whom i please, how is my marriage going to impact on your life , how will i desecrate the fabric of marriage .. i mean i love fabric
on the other hand , i understand Marriage is a religious term that is recognized by government. it is a religious matter and is union between myself and my partner.
But on the other other hand it grants me to a lot of legal obligations : insurence , domestic rights, parenting rights etc.
Other then the fact i mysteriously have three hands, I am really conflicted at the end of the day. I can see the general point of those who oppose it but why should i recieve less rights because of my orientation ?
it is confusing , the thing that pisses me off more then anything is when morality and what is natural are brought into the argument.
Jesus this is long
...like my gentlemans sausage.

I think gay marriage should be legal.
Because marriage was not invented by Christianity, so their tyrannical rule should not apply to thing they didn't make up.
Many cultures (The Celts, Anishenabe, and many many others) have had marriage, and same-sex marriage, before hearing of Christianity, or any Abrahamic religions. Two men in a relationship had the same name as a man and a woman in a relationship, and both were viewed as a stable, loving realtionship.
To suggest that we should not have same sex marriage is completely ludicrous, because America is not a theocracy. Like people look down on those who said that Interracial marriages would destroy America in the past, I'm sure that in the future, we will look down on all the nutballs saying the same about gay marriage.

Coming from Ireland , where church and state have been a intertwined mess in the past , i mean divorce was only legalized not to long ago ; i have to agree.
i get why the church doesnt like it too much, but that is not a solid case for it to be a law.
hat tip to you sir
