Conspiracy Keanu
I know it seems lame, but the thought occurred to me earlier.
edit: Just thought of something, I should have put "so Korra would lose" instead of "so the Wolfbats would win." Oh well.

I'm probably not the only person to notice this, but here goes:
-Start of episode 6 mentions "Cabbage Corp., bringing you technology for 50 years"
-Amon and Equalists show up with lightning gloves, mentions "we will defeat you with technology"
-Amon says "My Father and I"
-Amon is Cabbage Guy's son

Nah. He paid them off so everyone could see how awesome Lin actually was.
In all seriousness, it's pretty much explicitly shown that the Wolfbats paid off the ref. Even if it wasn't, why would they cheat so often by themselves and in confidence?

i'm pretty sure that was an obvious point of the episode....
But if Amon had paid off the refs how would the wolfbats know to cheat? They would have played fairly and not cheated if they weren't in on it.

That's probably it actually. That or the wolfbats paid them off themselves. Either way great episode!
The Woflbats seemed pretty aware that the ref was paid off, also they called to the ref for help as if they already had a personal connection with him and were relying on him.
I thought Korra would go avatar mode and save the wolf-bats before they had they'er bending taken away and the would be so thankful they would give the title of pro-bending champians to them but Amon still got away in time.
Amon talks about how the wolfbats purposely cheated, so your description is incorrect and Korra winning is irrelevant since his speech was about corruption/unfairness.

the audience will have been unaware of who paid off the refs (since it was obvious they had been) - it would therefore appear to them that the Wolfbats had paid off the refs, cheated and won. Therefore Amon would appear to be correct when he said they cheated
i figured it was either amon or asami sato. I kept thinking asami was really the wolfbats guy's gf and way playing mako but apparently the wolfbat guy wasnt in on it cause he lost his bending
But when Amon said the wolfbats were cheating, they didn't argue with him, which obviosly means the wolfbats paid the ref's off.
I'm still thinking that Tarlok has some kind of affiliation with Amon, or he might even be Amon. He could be lying about having his face burned away, or could be talking about a metaphorical face, like dignity or honor.
