Ok, but that then rules out the Irish.

I knew they were abused, but in the end they had it easier than the other two.

Including other Africans. Ireland is a tiny country whose maximum population was like 8 million. Africa is a ******* continent. It's impossible to compare them.

Okay I never mentioned Jews but that's a fine point. I do think Jews have been treated worse and are treated worse today. I was saying that it's impossible to compare Irish and Africans.

they're still classified as a minority yes, but they outnumber most others here in the US depending on where you are. especially here in MS

White people outnumber them, therefore, they are a minority.

Well yes white people outnumber blacks but if you haven't heard yet there's just about more "minorities" in America then white people right about now. It's sorta an American inside joke I guess.

to everyone who thumbed you down: it really is true. black people do influence most of everything that happens nowadays, whether it be in a good or (and mostly) bad ways. black people are always first defended before everything, black people get tons of free stuff such as scholarships just for being black, and they usually get to get away with most stuff because the people dont want to be labeled "racist"

Black people don't get scholarships for free... Though it is easier for them to get into college because they are black. You see colleges have this thing, that's required by law, so they're not favoring one race over another, they have a certain "quota", of sorts, of each race (Black, white, Asain, etc.) and they can't have more of one race than another. This is also required for big corporations, that's why on McDonald's applications they ask what race you are. So because black people are a minority, they have a better shot then white people. A minority is the smaller number in two groups forming a whole, since there are more white people than black people in America, BLACK PEOPLE ARE A MINORITY, no matter what you or retard up there has to say.

that's called affirmative action
and it's not legal to purposely deny someone a position in whatever it may be for because they are not black. They don't set aside a certain amount of spots for minorities as shown in Bakke vs. University of California en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regents_of_the_University_of_California_v._Bakke

and it is also illegal to ask what race you are on a job application

I feel like black people today have it a lot easier than they think they do. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying everything is peachy for black people, but I feel like the older generation of black people have a more legitimate claim to a hard knock life than the younger generation.

The issue is that poverty commonly carries on into the next generation. The older generations might have been direct victims of segregation and extreme racism but the mark is still there. There are also still a lot of racist ***** out there.

I understand that, but I feel like racism against black people today is just about the same racism that everyone else gets. I'm from eastern Europe (I was born in the US), and when I go back home, I get the same type of racsim that black people (or asian, or white, or latino) get here in the US. The only diference is that it's from other white people (diferrent ethnicity). THAT type of 'casual' racsim (as I like to call it) is inevitable. We humans are instinctively tribal, so it's only a matter of time before we give each other ****. SERIOUS racism, the kind that is government regulated, is something that we can (and should) avoid. Casual racsim is unavoidable, and to think otherwise seems a bit naive (although racism does suck).

I understand your point, but I'm of the opinion that we will never see one another as the same. In fact, I'm certain that that whole notion is extremely naive. You said that blacks get put into their own class and are believed to have a preset determination... But heres the thing: that can be said about any people. My whole point is that the older generation of African-Americans had it WAY harder than the current generation. The older generation had to contend with institutionalized racism, while black youth culture today is extremely popular. I can't not notice that. I have to acknowledge it.

Nowwer days there is nothing hard about being black, unless you make it hard. There is no more racial segregation Like there was in the 1940's, and you have the same rights as everyone else.

If you are a black person, and dress like a hood rat, then you can't complain when you get weird looks.
Its not that hard to dress like a regular person, jeans (Pulled up) T shirt (That fits right) And maybe a sweat shirt (Again that fits right)
Seriously.
And don't pull the ******* slave card out, None of the black men and women alive today were ever subjected to any form of slavery.
