Until you have idiot control you need better gun control. That's undeniable. There are far too many gun related crimes due to mentally instable people getting guns. Have more restriction on who can get guns, what's wrong with that?

Guns are controlled very well as it is. Extensive licensing to sell and transfer guns, waiting periods, extensive background checks for each purchase made. The problem isn't the people that are buying them legally (i.e. the ones that obey the gun control laws in the first place) but rather the ones that ignore the law and do what they want.

In short, gun control doesn't stop crime because criminals, by definition, don't follow the law.

Well then it's hard to do anything, it is undeniable that there are too many idiots getting their hands on guns, if illegally I can't think of a solution. That just sucks.

It's a Catch-22:
Criminals get more guns, normal people buy more to defend themselves. Lawmakers see more guns being bought legally, decide that there's too many guns. Kinda ****** if you ask me lol

the outlaws continue to buy guns from black market vendors, and the good samaritans are the only ones who have to suffer from the gun control laws, look up prohibition, when we outlawed alchohol criminals took control of the alchohol market and rose to power over good samaritans. it's like punishing everyone who was in the bank for the robbery, and it's getting us nowhere.

You do earn it in a sense. When buying a gun, you are asked certain questions about what you plan to do with the gun. You basically end up signing a contract that the gun is strictly for you. Breaking any of those questions is a Federal crime.

People who have Felony crimes are also revoked the right to bear arms.

It is a basic human right to defend yourself and the country in the time of invasion.

Driving is a privilege

Like I said, people that have done Felony crimes are deemed unworthy to own a firearm and that right is revoked.

Yet driving kills more people than guns.

Less cars in the world than guns, more people being responsible with guns than cars, yet still wants to restrict guns. Sounds contradictory but let's take this in another angle.

Basically we are discussing what the U.S. defines as human rights, and you are saying people need to be tested to make sure they can have that right. I would agree also as long as it applies to all Amendments, not just the 2nd. I hate the fact that you can live in a cave and not know a damn thing about what is going on in the world but yet can still vote(which will be whoever had the prettiest ads) This will never fly because a simple fact that minorities will claim whites are messing with the system.

That's rather general. Are you saying people who think there should be no guns are idiots or just those who say every man and his dog shouldn't be packing a RPG?
