He never died in the movie. Fury showed the avengers his trading cards covered in blood and told them that he died, but later in the movie one of the agents said that his cards was never in his jacket when he died and that they were in his locker. Then Fury responded that he knows and that the avengers needed a little push. So he lied to the avengers that he died, so that they would work together as a team.
true. he did need the push. its also kinda crazy that, he might have set the entire damn thing up. it ended up getting away from him a bit, but he didnt want the cubes power to be harnessed on earth cause it would just be a new type of nuclear deterrent. idk what the power is but you get what i meant. he wanted the avengers, it is conceivable that he knew using the cubes power would draw attention from more powerful beings, and they would need something, or someone, or some group lol, to save them all. is he the kind of person to believe the price is worth it?
Yeah, that makes sense actually. Fury does seem to be the sort of guy who'd take a risk like that. Almost destroy the whole world so you can get a kick-ass team of superheros who'll stop at nothing to defend it. . . seems legit. Although not very cost effective when you think about it.
Whole planet blow up or whole planet maybe blow up and get kick ass team. One way or another they were going to try and use the cube. either take it away from fury or whatnot and it ends up drawing loki his army and we are even worse off.
But the content is clearly about the avengers. Sure it's about Captain America, but it's about Captain America's outfit in the avengers. The number one way to avoid spoilers on anything, is to stay out of any kind of chat board, that includes the comment section of funny junk. You weren't careful, it's your fault.

His actor and character have been signed to Iron Man 3, and it doesn't explicitly show him dying on camera (he falls unconscious as the medics come in), and it's questionable why Fury messed with the cards to get motivation out of the heroes. If he had died, there wouldn't have been a need to ruse it all up for them (he got the cards out of the locker, and yet they were still covered in blood when they had supposedly not been anywhere near him).
There's still hope!

It's not a prequel. Iron man 3, Captain America 2, Thor 2 are all coming out respectively on consequent years and on 2015(or was it 2016) They should all again tie down to Avengers 2. And yeah i don't remember it being confirmed. hoping for the best >.< But maybe it was but i was too busy grieving.
