Your heart is what is keeping you alive, for it is supplying oxygen to the brain with continuous blood flow. You can live without a brain, though your movement would be comparable to that of a vegetable.

Yes, I said we could "live" without brains. Did I say we could "survive" without them? No, I did not. Are you familiar with the case of Terry Schiavo? With the medical technology of today, it is very possible to "live" without brain function, but with the ventilator keeping you alive, that would just be cruel.
Ergo, "living" without brain function is possible. "Surviving" is a different story.
