No, I get it, it's just dumb. If someone makes a beautiful, diamond-encrusted knife, that he intends purely for whittling and creating things, why is it that man's fault if someone steals the knife and uses it to kill somebody? That's not what the knife was originally meant to do, and sin wasn't originally supposed to be in the world.

That is... Actually a very good metaphor to describe 'free will given by god'. It however does not make the epicurus quote 'dumb'. He was one of the most intelligent people of his time. (Not that there were many, but you get my point.)
