Depends where you are. I've been in some lecture halls at Dalhousie that have nice large tables in the front but shitty little table/chairs in the back. I can only assume it's a punishment for people who show up late.

I have been to 5 schools but i've only seen them in one school and that was only two classrooms. It seems they're pretty rare so i guess it makes sense why you haven't seen them before
