if op finds a hilarious comic on, say, and wants to share it on funnyjunk, he can post it and get a lot of thumbs and lulz

that's not reposting just for thumbs, because people on this site usually thumbs for funny/awesome content, not just because it's original
many guys wants to share laughs

lastly, if only oc got thumbs, a lot of very funny pictures wouldn't be shared, and we are here to laugh anyways, amirite?

If someone makes a comic that has an old joke in it, it's not OC, but if there's none of the same comic around, then it's not a repost either.
If someone posts exactly the same content then it's a repost.

You can't just 'accidentally' take something from another site and post it again, claiming that you didn't know. If you nicked it, it's a repost. Unless someone hypnotised you into reposting, you can't 'accidentally' repost.
