If you think about it, Ironman is nothing but a gadget. Without his suit, Tony Stark is weak, where Bruce Wayne is still a badass, not to mention a tactical genius who could probably figure out how to beat Ironman with nothing but a rock and a minute. Hell, give him a minute to prepare and a minute to analyze the suit and he won't need the rock.

Tony's a tactical genius too, but Mavel is more realistic in the sense that being a tactical genius doesn't always work out.

Also Tony has been trained by Black Panther, Captain America and Shang Chi without his suit. Batman would kick his ass easily, but Tony can defend himself pretty effectively without the suit.
