The friend zone isn't as bad as it is made out to be...if she doesn't want what you want, there's no reason to be upset about it. Being friends is just as good (minus physical interaction of course). I am 18, and have never had to ask a girl out though. I find it's easier that way anyways, rather have someone interested in me approach me and go from there. Being friends is a starting zone, and possibly the best way to start. My current girl friend was a class mate and great friend. We have been going out for almost 2 years and I feel like she's the one for me. Being friends is extremely important for any relationship, so you may as well start there.
