No ... Loud and vocal Christians are fucking morons, Most of us don't give a fuck about those things, and we don't act that different from atheists. But of course Christians like us are don't really get mention by the news do we ?

cool/rebellious?
I don't believe in god because there is no proof and I'm not willing to pray to someone/something that does not exist or matter to me. To me the idea behind the 'holy' books was:
1- To make a cheap army of believers.
2- To reduce crime which was a big problem. (Khan Krum even resorted to punishments such as cutting the hands of robbers, cutting the tongues of liars...)

Or maybe to enlighten and bring spirituality and people together? You know after every religion that's ever come, a boost in enlightenment, technology, sciences and much more has come? I have a theory that every prophet (Mohammed, Jesus, Moses etc.) were sent by the same god at different times to bring faith and spirituality back to man. Man needs these things.. However many people take these things waaaaaay to far and make their faith look bad for everyone else.
Well actually the prophet thing isn't my own theory, it's a belief of the Baha'i Faith.
All faiths really want is to bring people together, but eventually they die out and just want power.
The Baha'i faith was only formed in the 1800's, have a minor look into the teachings or beliefs and maybe you wont have such strong opinions

when i was thirteen, i read the bible again, i decided that i would read it critically and think about what i was reading. The ideas in the bible didn't seem plausible, but i didn't give up religion. I was on a religious phase from around 11 to 13 so choosing to give it up really was a hard decision for me. not because i was thinking that my god was imaginary and not because i wasn't thinking logically, it was just how i lived. it was how i was born. and after months of searching and trying the logic behind a few religions, i made an informed decision. the only thing that bothers me is the lack of an open mind. As i have learned, you don't need to 100% follow a religion to be part of it. but you don't need to reject any other opinion about the same concept
