They aren't competitors, Notch admitted himself that Terraria is a great game, and even HE is extremely proud and admitted to being jealous of it's progress. (It progressed far quicker than Minecraft). On top of that, Terraria and Minecraft can't be compared. They have two extremely different gamestyles, one of the biggest being the fact Terraria is 2D.
Yes, the two games have similar aspects and features, but when you play the two, you realise they are not alike at all.

the last hing he's gonna do is release the game in physical copy form in the US

terraria isn't a competitor, they're two very different games. That's like saying Skyrim competes with Halo.

Terraria is no longer in development!!! D: However, I do have a steam code. Anyone willing to trade me a code for basically anything for it? It's a great game.

I don't have NEARLY enough patience to play either one.
