I know what to expect from the FJ community in terms of politics, but are none of you at all perturbed by the idea of a radical theocracy getting their hands on the power to wipe entire cities off face of the earth? Please, for the love of God hear me out.

For those that don't already know, the only thing keeping us from annihilating each other over the past half century is MAD; Mutually Assured Destruction. You nuke us, we nuke you. Nobody wants to get nuked. The fact that we're not living in an irradiated wasteland is proof of concept.

The fear here is that Iran is not a stable country and those nuclear weapons can easily fall into the wrong hands, either accidentally or intentionally. Then we're screwed. MAD doesn't work when there's no return address.

You might say "Yea, but the US has nukes. That makes you hypocrites". No it doesn't. We haven't objected when stable countries get nukes. Hell, we give nukes to stable nations like Belgium and Turkey. However, Iran is far from stable. They cling to control by gunning down protesters and jailing dissidents. If they successfully revolt you're going to end up with nuclear weapons up for grabs.

Do you really want to take that risk?

USA packs all middle eastern countries with their bases, how the hell do you expect the middle easterners to react to that ? All hatred towards the US has been bought upon by themselves (government not people). Go ahead, do the dirty work for Israel and go to war with iran, it'll just end like iraq, millions of iraqis dead, thousands of troops dead, no WMD found at all, and oil prices up 200%, 10 years and no result, go ahead america. it seems the people living their are just too fuckin stupid to think otherwise, and keep electing money hungry politicians playing the cards of the rich.

The people of the US are having their rights stripped away everyday, eg SOPA, detaining anyone on pure suspicion, strip searching anyone even if he has been done for something like not wearing a seatbelt. Civil rights? LOL, the constitution....just a piece of paper in a museum now, good luck America, it looks like the 'terrorists' are winning, i mean think about it, is america in a better place than if was before going to the war, are people more 'safe' than they were before going into iraq, do people have more rights now than they did previously? just think about it guys. don't let your politicians bring what was such a great country down. america is sinking, and only their people can save it. one last bit of advice, dont watch FOX and elect Ron Paul.
