Ode on a Twisty Tie
O, twisty tie, flat and straight,
Attached to your fellows true,
Beginning life with many a mate
Patiently awaiting your use.
Lined in a rejoined at the hip,
infantry formed up fer battle,
Your steel bodies shew stiff upper lip
And paper mouths sound not a prattle_
Dread now the day youve tom asunder
And bent from your shape pristine
To secure some child' s Haloween plunder
And writhe in estate so mean.
Or maybe furl the mouth of a bag
That holds the leaf of a baker;
Or on some odd item cinch the price tag
Of a flea market salesman hawker.
Once you'" been used youve fit fer the trash -
Less than a you cost,
Your life came and went in less than a flash.
m the end bothe sure to he tossed.
