I'm not sure on that, HIV reduces your immune system and allows other diseases to kill you as far as I know. But I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong

It can inadvertently kill you, but not directly.... as far as I know

You are correct, AIDS cannot kill you, only weaken your immune system so something else can.
