I encountered this exact thing before, I even made this to keep myself happy, saving it in the hopes that one day the greats of FunnyJunk may once again need to clear their heads with its beautiful completeness.

I do know that, actually.

They all fall under the heading "Brackets" and thus it is completely fine to refer to any of them as simply "a bracket" as it's just a sort of abbreviation.

And even if we follow you're logic, you're still wrong on two points:
That is not "a bracket" but "a square bracket" if we're going to be pedantic about using the full names.
And "parentheses" is a plural, the singular being "parenthesis" (as was also pointed out in a reply to your comment).

I will get so bad anxiety, and just go nuts if something feels out of place. 60% of the time im forced to go push my toaster on or turn on, then off some lights. Even fucking turning the microwave on for just a second.

I had more of an issue with intrusive thoughts that would turn into paranoid anxious trains of thought but thankfully it doesn't happen too much anymore without a fairly large trigger.
