Don't be so idiotic as to believe that people who use the word "we" in that respect feel as if they did the deed. It's just like when you say "our football team is better than yours" when you talk about pro football. It's easier to say "we" As in "we, The United States" rather than typing out The United States every time, and it's also natural to say "we" when talking about things like this.
