Shortest theory that sums up everything:
Its okay what you think about opposing religion and stuff,
you can just believe in god and you won't lose anything because if there was really a god then he'd reward you and if there wasn't you won't lose anything.

Well, thats just called being a decent person I believe. Then again, most (well a big part) of the people calling themselves Christian only do so because they believe there is someone who created the Earth and that he had a son named Jesus. They are just about as Christian as an average Jew or Muslim is. Most don't believe in the bible, and think it should be read as a book of guidance, rather than a book of actual historic events. In short, a lot of people "believe" in Christianity because thats what they've been brainwashed with since birth, and so they believe in most scientific facts, even the ones directly disproving most of what Christianity is based upon, yet stay "faithful" because they are afraid.
Atleast I think so...... *rantrantrant*

nah its not a rant/
I had many religious debates, and I am sure going to have more and more
but I don't care what others think; most of the are brainwashed "as you said" and those who are able to give a debate are usually unbound to change their views
and as I always say: nobody has to do with other's religion or views if these things aren't harming anyone
--> one should maintain his spirituality for himself
is someone follows a certain religion and performs the demanded prayers then does bad things then they certainly won't be deserving of anything that the religion claims to reward
many many many words on religion

Now see, there I agree with you completely. I have a couple of friends who call themselves Christian or Muslim, but they don't bother me about it, so I don't bother them. What this world needs is just a little more respect from all sides. What parents at home teach their kids is their own business. It's just when such a, to me, extreme point of view regarding how everything works is implemented through public schools, as it was where I grew up, that I call it brainwashing.
But, yes, a very interesting topic of discussion, I'd say.
