OBJECTION! Gin was actually a long-term double agent ever since Aizen recruited him! He figured that Aizen was going to end up doing some really bad stuff when he had only just barely joined the 13 Squads, thus after a while Aizen began to trust him and taught him the only weakness to his swords ability. Then Gin just waited for the perfect time to strike!

If you read the manga, you wont be bombarded with bullshit filler arcs. Watching is obviously better but for the story line, the manga is just as good

The franchise as a whole started out good (the first major arc is great) but the plot is basically horseshit and everybody is either a useless side-character or a mac guffin used to further the protag's growth.

Also, hacks. EVEN MORE SO THAN GOKU'S TRAINING.

The manga is great, in my opinion. The story's pretty okay, I guess, but I really read it most for the art.
