i am a catholic, and i choose to have faith in a god. athiests choose not to believe in a god. the way i see it, it is very much a matter of personal choice, rather than logic. sure, there are numerous powerful arguments against the existence of god. i understand and acknowledge these arguments, and i accept that atheists do not believe in the same things i do. however, because the catholic religion is based around faith, it is impossible to prove that god does not exist to these people. the whole idea of religion is to believe that there is a higher power, so unless it can be proved that there isn't, Christians will go on believing. atheists, i understand your frustration at our denial of your arguments, but the reason we deny them is because of the most basic aspect of our religion: faith. i have no problem with atheists making these arguments, and i am not trying to start a fight, but i would like to say that theists have just as much of a reason to believe in their ideas as atheists do.

Honestly, it's cool that a lot of Atheists don't believe in a God.
But I hate it when people say "I am Atheist, I don't believe in GOD."
You SHOULD be saying "I am Atheist, I don't believe in ANY GODS."

Atheists single out Christians, and it is EXTREMELY ridiculous.
If you expect a Christian to keep their faith to themselves, why are so many of you trying to disprove the existence of their God the moment that "I am Christian" comes out of their mouth?
The only reason to do that is being an asshole.

We can neither prove nor deny that life on other planets may exist, you don't see people hating on each other for it.

"Well so many people have been tortured and killed in the name of Christianity!"

Lots of people have also been tortured and used as slaves or killed in the name of not being white, and when people bring up the past of our ancestors and say "you're racist because of what they did to us" you get pretty pissed off, no?


If I tell someone I am a Buddhist, nobody jumps down my throat about how that shit is all a sham.

If I were to post "I am Christian." it would turn into a shitstorm of people telling me how stupid I am.
