Yeah, I learned about this in one of my classes; how modern music is seldom made by the artist themselves. Often some other person/people wrote it, other people messed around with sound and whatnot, and after some repackaging (and autotune, in most cases) then the actual artist preforms it and it becomes the song everyone knows and loves!
