usually I try to avoid religious debats on funnyjunk, but when someone says that all atheist is like that or that, I get mad. I am not anywhere like that atheist who posted this and he has no right to say that I am.

boxdrop (04/21/2012) [-] Agreed, i feel like im a huge minority on this site when it comes to these post/arguments because im Buddhist but at the same time i never see anyone giving us shit for anything. i said it to someone else one of my favorite comedians will make fun of anything religion being part of it hes atheist makes fun of them all the time along with all the others. Only thing he could come up with for Buddha was isn't he a fat bastard

If I remember correctly, Buddha is like a profet, but not really a profet, for Buddhism, right? and there has been more than one Buddha through the years?
if I am right, then that comedian showed the stereotypes people have for Buddhism, which is really unfortunate..

boxdrop (04/21/2012) [-] Well thats really the biggest stereotype a lot of people think if you see monks you can mess with them and they wont do anything back but after something physical is done to them if its deemed necessary to defend yourself its done in more of a way to either stop what the person is doing or take them down fast to just end it. a Buddha is a human being who has undergone a profound spiritual transformation, so in a sense, yes there has been more then one.

But then they start to get into some of the other things like things you need to do or your basically fucked, for instance taking a shit and eating meat on a friday are both hell worthy trespasses

If you look it up their are about 3 or 4 that all have 1 all know god 1 profit and in all of them the profit told people listen to me for i am his vessel and the god is up in the sky saying be good or else. Ive never actually understood the concept of hell, if your being bad and going against god wouldn't the devil more embrace you with open arms and by now he would have an army more then big enough to take over heaven and earth without a second thought with how strict everything is to go to heaven

boxdrop (04/22/2012) [-] Im just afraid to waste the time i do have on meaningless endeavors and not seeing what life is actually like. I'm actually thinking of taking a trip to Australia to see the rumjacks for some time between this summer and winter, while to most that seems like a fruitless endeavor to me thats a chunk of my life i will find well spent because i got to go do something fun and enjoy the time
