I have seen a detailed calculation where yes they both would fit but half their bodies wold be submerged id ICE cold water and you lose body heat 25x faster in water than you do in air.

Not to mention the fact that salt water is more dense than fresh water, that door is also broken in many parts, it would be absorbing water because it's not properly sealed anymore. There is an alternate ending where Jack was just sleeping when the rescue boat came around, Rose wakes him up, they both get into the water and swim to the boat, they are both rescued and live happily ever after
