Why not one universal plug?

It would make us all happy

Why is there multiple plugs?
I see no point in having diffrent ones depending in the continent.

Canadian Electrician here. We have different male ends on chords because different countries have a different power supply. Using the wrong one could royally **** your **** up. Also, with many devices, the plug could be reversible, there is no need for a two prong to have a 'backwards' way, since with AC (Alternating Current), power flows both ways through the circuit, and switches directions about 60 times a second.

I did once, then a usb and another cord.
I felt like God because I didn't look at any of them and did it in like, 0.2 seconds.
