I agree with this guy. Being an amerifag, most of us have it REALLY easy, especially if you compare our lives to those in other countries. We complain a lot about our government, but to be honest, things are pretty comfortable here for the most part. That being said, the only people that run for office are fucking retarded.

Well, I live in America, and I didn't have a problem with the drinking age, but then I visited China. In China, there's no real restrictions around alcohol. That way, kids can try a little bit and learn to be responsible about about with their parents. You get far less people going insane when they turn 21 in China than in the US.
Plus, why is your brain not good enough to make decisions about alcohol, when apparently it's good enough to make permanent decisions that affect our futures greatly, and it's good enough to weigh the heath consequences of cigarettes? You have to admit that's hypocritical.
Oh, also, the military can stunt brain growth. Lots of people developed mental illnesses like PTSD in Iraq. And cigarettes destroy your lungs and shit. What makes that different from alcohol?

Alcohol affects your decision making only if you're irresponsible with it. And like I mentioned before, when young teens get a chance to drink with their parents, they learn proper responsibility around alcohol, and thus, the issue of decision making isn't a problem. And you will notice that even though our drinking age is high, people still make shitty decisions around alcohol. So I doubt those restrictions are beneficial in any way.

You're brain has fully reached its peak of growth usually until you're 23 to 25. and drinking and driving is a major concern. Cigarettes and being a soldier don't inhibit you're capacity to think intelligently while alcohol can keep you from behaving with intelligence. And since underage drinking isn't highly regulated Idk why you complain. I have been drinking since 19 and no body has a big deal about it unless I do something illegal or drive under the influence. So please continue this rant that is really quite pointless

don't pull PTSD on me. That is also you're own choice to go fight. My gf's dad has that and is really messed up by it and gets crazy disability benefits cause it affects his everyday life. But when there is no draft, you can't complain that you're allowed to go fight and smoke cigarettes. No one is forcing you to do that

Hmm... that's a good point. However, all the drinking age does is make drunk driving happen later. It might be more strategic to lower the drinking age so kids can learn how to be responsible with alcohol while still with their parents. Because the age is 21, most ppl have to make their own mistakes and figure alcohol out alone. Not a good solution.

Right, and pharmacists and doctors are TOTALLY unaware of the affects of drugs on young kids when they prescribe them right? And they definitely prescribe harmful doses. Not to mention, teenagers, especially screwed up ones who want to drink, DEFINITELY have the self control to be responsible with alcohol right? I'm 17 and I've NEVER felt the need to drink, and neither have any of my friends in college (none of whom have boring lives and even attend Ivy League universities).

It's a dumb argument, because people over the age of 21 drunk drive and kill people as well. If anything, the drinking age should be lower than the driving age. That way people will have enough experience with drinking to do it responsibly before they have access to a car.
