i hate liberals cause liberals are big wussface stuck ups who can't decide what is right so they just let everyone do anything. And i hate conservatives cause of their beliefs :)

You see, it is a mark of intelligence to recognize that it's almost impossible to solve the world's moral questions. And liberals deal with moral dilemmas by recognizing that the answers depend on an individual, so they support laws that give free choice.

You must also remember, that liberals was a term given to any group that supported newer ideas. So people who were against slavery were called liberals. Just throwing it out there.....

but in all serious i did like the part about why they give free choice it gave me pause for a second. I think free choice is a luxury that people see as a necessity which is why they can't imagine a world without free choice. I always try to base my beliefs on what would be right if i were in a hunter gatherer society or on a deserted island with a bunch of people, what would be right then. I think people judge right and wrong based on a democratic society, which narrows some peoples view of morality. It's why whenever i hear someone say "singing is what i was born to do" i just wanna punch em in the throat til they cant sing anymore haha.

and to quote the carver from nip/tuck "Those first gut instincts, they're always right. It's time and sentimentality that cloud the mind's ability to judge." i think we know the right thing but we overthink things to suit our own moral wants.

btw just saying i agree with you and socrates who says true wisdom lies in knowing that you know nothing. And the founding fathers were smart by making the constitution a livving document that could be amended :)

Also, I think it's almost impossible to have morals that aren't somehow influenced by your society. I think our society is really what shapes our morals. I'm kind of okay with that

ill only be happy with myself if im thinking outside the box. I can be a bit of a "contrarian" ill argue with whatever is the majority opinion. My family hates me for that I always take the side of the person not there to defend themself.
