The federal case wasn't that he cheated, it was that he lied under oath for cheating.
It's not like Newt walked away from it scott free. He had to step down as speaker.

What I find odd is that everyone still demonizes Newt for his affairs while people just joke about Clintons and make light of it. They were both equally responsible for the success of the 90's. It's retarded that Clinton gets all the credit, while Newt is hated for the same crime.
