Let me tell you why you're probably wrong:
1. Not all the stars have died, and in fact, many stars have been created
2. The sun is a star. It is not dead.
3. My dreams are not dead because that star MIGHT be. Maybe my dream was to look at was once a star but is no longer. That dream would live on.

False. I wish apon proxima centauri as it is only 4.22 light years away. Meaning that that star would have had to die within the last 4.22 years for me to still see its light and it be dead. In cosmic terms the likelyhood of that happening is almost nill which is still far more likely than op getting laid.

Consider the following: The Milky Way Galaxy is approximately 100000 light years across, that means it would take 100000 years for the light from one side of the galaxy to reach another. Stars have lives in the billions of years. Our Sun, for example, is estimated to be able to live for another 4 billion years or so, and it is roughly 5 billion years old, and because all of the oldest stars in the galaxy are near the galactic core which is not visible from Earth, EVERY. SINGLE. STAR. VISIBLE. IN. THE. MILKY. WAY. IS. ALIVE.

One night my friends and I were going to get something to eat and my friend's girlfriend who was with us pointed to the sky and said we should make a wish on this star because it was the first to appear in the night sky. I proceeded to tell her that she was stupid and it would be a waste of a wish because it wasn't a star, it was Venus. And that's why I am not allowed to go out to eat with them anymore.

I was gonna write something about how "many people seem to be more concerned about facts than the funny of the joke" but I know I'll just get thumbed down.
So I won't to that...
