Black mana symbolizes mainly death and destruction yet also has resurrection type spells, it seems kind of dark yet like everything has to be taken in context like resurrecting a person/family so others can say there final good byes (albeit they will be forever slaves to you most likely)

Red mana symbolizes passion/love and raw emotion, that is mainly self explanatory, but it does not deal with breeding animistic instincts like green does, it focuses more on romantic emotions and raw hate/anger that is unnecessary for survival.
