that didn't affect my childhood at all, in fact i thought of this an came up with a very simple answer. when Andy walked in the other toys froze and buzz lighter figured Andy must be some type of dictator or ruler and that this was a normal custom on the strange new planet and so he followed along, so as not to be cast out or killed for his insolence

a part of that mission also meant staying still like a toy when the kid is near or something like that.
