WOW... surprisingly enough... 13,000 is a spot on number. Those cameras are 5d mk II's So a pair of those goes for roughly 5 grand. The lens on the right looks like a 100-300mm L-series zoom which retails around 2 grand the short lens in the middle is around 1500 depending on where you buy it. I've never seen the big lens and can't properly ID it. Depending on what model it is it's gonna be between 2 and 11 thousand.
So yeah anywhere between 11K and 19K. The phone is so she can can prove she had access to the site. She's picture mailing her boss or multiple clients to create buzz and maybe get a little bidding action going. God Knows I've done it before.
<Oh my... where did these come from?

Here's a list of reasons why she didn't use her bling equipment;
- Big ass lenses not meant for up-close shots
- Her batteries are flat(?)
- By the time she gets to the video mode on her DSLRs with optimal settings, everything's over
- She probably already took pictures/videos on her DSLRs and wanted to do a quick upload over the internet

Ahhh but wait, there is a perfectly logical explanation for this phenomenon. The camera she is not using is called an SLR camera and these generally can not record vide. Most phones can record video so this is why she is using her phone. Everybody needs a party pooper.

That's because all of her lenses are too long for such a close up shot.

God damn it you people. She's a journalist. Journalists use phone cameras first (if good enough), so they can send some pictures to the editor. Then they use the real cameras if needed. It's much harder and takes a lot more time to set up the DSLR cameras for a good photo than a phone camera. Simple logic, people.
I think it's incredible that no one was killed, and let me give some of you guys some information before anyone starts bashing the Navy:
The pilot's first words when they found him were "I am so sorry".
One of the engines caught on fire and caused the plane to go down, the pilot tried to get to a wooded area but did not have time. It was not the pilot's fault in any way.
The Navy has told businesses MANY times that where they are building is in a crash zone. In fact, the mall in VB is in a crash zone. The Navy has warned businesses and no one listened. Unfortunately, this is what can happen.
