I like Family Guy and all, but something about early to mid-90's Nickelodeon will always make it the golden era of cartoons in my mind.

Golden era.......... Golden era? No, just no. The 90's had some fantastic shows but that was not the golden era. Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Rocky and Bullwinkle. Those are the cartoons of the golden era.

Notice he said "in my mind." He can think that if he wants.

No the Golden era is an actual time period. He's wrong.
User avatar #183 to #178 - ZenMacros (04/09/2012) [-]
That would refer to the quality of cartoons of that time, which is subjective and therefore cannot be universally better than cartoons of another time. He spoke based on his own personal preferences, so no he's not wrong. It's all opinions.

No it isn't subjective.... There is a period that is called "the golden era of animation". It's not opinion it's a fact. It was a period from the late 20's to the early 60's
User avatar #192 to #190 - ZenMacros (04/09/2012) [-]
So what if some people called it that? Does that mean no one is allowed to think anything not from that era is better than stuff from that era?
User avatar #195 to #192 - cjklefty (04/09/2012) [-]
Oh jesus.... It is the name for that period in animation. Like how the 50's were called the post war era. It doesn't mean they were the best cartoons. I didn't say he can't think they're better. I'm saying if it wasn't made in that time frame it's not the golden era. Golden era doesn't have ANYTHING TO DO WITH QUALITY it's a TIME PERIOD. Do you understand?
User avatar #198 to #195 - ZenMacros (04/09/2012) [-]
But he wasn't even talking about that. He meant "the golden era of cartoons in my mind" as in "the time when I personally thought cartoons were at their best." We were arguing over two completely different points, so I apologize for the misunderstanding.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I'm saying that saying "X was the Golden era of Y" makes no sense because golden era doesn't refer the best of something it's a specific time period. It just happens that that's when the best cinema was.
It's dangerous to go alone take these

Of course, but he just used it as an expression to get the point across that he loves 90s cartoons. Doesn't make sense, but you still get the point of what he was saying.

Yes but I'm a nitpicker. Did you check the links?

Yeah, they were pretty laggy for me though. Regardless I lol'd at the second one.
User avatar #205 to #204 - cjklefty (04/09/2012) [-]
Which browser were you using. and did you refresh?
User avatar #206 to #205 - ZenMacros (04/09/2012) [-]
I'm using Chrome, and yeah, refreshing didn't work.
User avatar #207 to #206 - cjklefty (04/09/2012) [-]
Don't use chrome with YTMND. Mozilla works way better.
User avatar #208 to #207 - ZenMacros (04/09/2012) [-]
Still lagged :/
Oh well, I was still able to watch it and still thought they were funny. Thanks!

That's weird... Yeah you should go to their site and check their all time highest rated. YTMND was basically the inventor of the viral meme. It all pretty much started there.

I will concede that. Mel Blanc is my favorite voice actor of all time (he did virtually all the Looney Tune characters).
