You made a mistake, England should be Mew.
Why? Because we were the most powerful empire the world had ever seen.
#880 to #772 - N. Korean citizen (04/09/2012) [-]

And you couldn't tell this was a troll attempt? You make our country look dumb, thanks a lot.
User avatar #835 to #772 - sketchE (04/09/2012) [-]
explains why you were beaten by a bunch of colonists in america (very poorly supplied army) india (nonviolence did a lot of harm) and a lot more of your colonies before having to give up the rest of your colonies after WWII because you couldnt sustain yourself. hell were you guys able to take zande territory in central africa when they had knived and you had guns? being the fat kid on the block doesnt make you better
User avatar #839 to #835 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
You realise France won that war right? not America.
Everything we owned made Britian wealthy and were still bringing in the coin from that.
More than I can say for most other countries.

User avatar #843 to #839 - sketchE (04/09/2012) [-]
france made a blockade we did the fighting. if i remember correctly you guys brought in mercs so you couldnt even do the fighting yourself

And who's smart idea was to allow Germany to stay an industrialised nation after WW1, hmmm? Now there's a good retard.
User avatar #878 to #875 - sketchE (04/09/2012) [-]
were not the ones who put them into a depression after the war giving hitler backing to his claims. that would be Britain and france. if i have learned anything from military history its that putting a country into debt after war will not stop them going to war it just pisses them off. look at japan we took there army but we built them back up didnt see japan attacking again in 30 years
#872 to #843 - bubbleseverywhere (04/09/2012) [-]
You would have lost the war if you hadn't have had the French weapons and support. Not that the colonists weren't brave fighters.
#828 to #772 - N. Korean citizen (04/09/2012) [-]
It wasn't the most powerful empire the world had ever seen.. it was just big as hell but very loosely spread so there was no way the territory would last long.
User avatar #836 to #828 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
We controlled area's that would bring in money.
The idea of the British Empire was never to grow huge and stay that way.
It was to grow over area's and bring in money with taxes and resources.
Which is what we did.
Why do you think Britian has such a huge influence on the world though it's so small?
Were smart, rich and still powerful.
#845 to #836 - N. Korean citizen (04/09/2012) [-]
Smart yes of course,. rich meh, moderatly powerful...

User avatar #783 to #779 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
Do you know how big the British Empire was?
User avatar #787 to #783 - Rome **User deleted account** (04/09/2012) [-]
The Roman empire spanned the majority of southern Europe to India then down to northern Africa.
#797 to #787 - N. Korean citizen (04/09/2012) [-]
Maximum extent of the Roman Empire. Seems to stop pretty far away from India to me...
The Roman Empire was 6.5 million km2 at its height, the British was 33.7 million km2. Even the French Empire was bigger.
User avatar #810 to #797 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
Thankyou for the actual figures.
The Roman empire wasn't as big as people seem to think.
User avatar #806 to #797 - Rome **User deleted account** (04/09/2012) [-]
Well they made it to India,
and the time gap between the 3 Empires is a factor.
If the Romans had the massive ships and other means of travel the British and French did, they would have traveled farther.
#876 to #806 - bubbleseverywhere (04/09/2012) [-]
The romans didn't get to India, it was the Greeks who made it that far.

Bitch please, water routes are for squares.
<- Mongolian Empire

Actually the Mongols just sucked at naval warfare, that's why they never took Japan (look up origins for the word Kamikaze, it's a pretty cool story)

"but if"
They would have travelled further yes, but they didn't.
History does not run on "but if's"
User avatar #794 to #787 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
Maybe you should take a look at some maps and see how much of the world Britian actually controlled.... Simple because of technological advances, if the romans had the technology the British had they would have spread a lot more but they didn't.
User avatar #795 to #794 - Rome **User deleted account** (04/09/2012) [-]
"The Technology"
There was almost a 1500 year difference in between our Empires, so you can't pull that shit on me.
#803 to #795 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
Ofcourse I can, I can also show you this map showing the main concentrations of the British Empire in comparion with the Roman Empire.

(visiting a country and not controlling it is not included Mr Rome)

The red box and purple area's is what Rome controlled.
The red area's is what the british Empire controlled.
User avatar #840 to #803 - sketchE (04/09/2012) [-]
fighting natives asians and africans using shrap sticks and early metal work (for them) doesnt really compare to fighting some of the strongest armies in your time period
User avatar #855 to #840 - kyoutu (04/09/2012) [-]
lol are you dumb or racist?
Maybe you should learn your history and you'll realised African countries aren't all tribes people.
xD dumbass.
User avatar #859 to #855 - sketchE (04/09/2012) [-]
