This. Releasing a rushed product due to deadline and budget pressure coupled with poor executive decision making and slicing and dicing said product's story content to maximize profits is all EA's doing. And yet their fall back argument is "Artistic Integrity" and "Keeping the writer's artistic vision intact." Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there has been one writer that has stepped forward and defended their work. You can kind of get the sense that there is some fire between Bioware's creative staff and the higher up's from both companies.

had the same amount of expansion dlc. the rest was guns or outfits or armor. plus, the actual expansion dlc had much much more content then the dlcs in 1

I agree that the DLC missions for ME2 were great, but the weapon and outfit packs were a bit much. At least things were better if you got the game new.

DLC isn't necessarily bad... but all but three of the dlcs were boring and offered nothing to Mass Effect 2.

EA*. BioWare is a cool guy.

BioWare has no say in what they distribute to when they're affiliated with EA. If EA can horde whatever money they want, they'll put all their games on Origin.

It's the same with the original Mass Effect, when BioWare was affiliated with Microsoft. There's a reason why they made Mass Effect: Genesis, since no one with a PS3 could play the original Mass Effect to import to ME2.

It's not fixing the ending, it's just expanding on the ending. They've already said they're not changing the ending.

While most people found the ending to be bad, I'm pretty sure most people are pissed off at the fact that there's no closure to anything you've done.

The only way to fix that would be completely redoing the ending. BioWare's not going to do that and should not be EXPECTED to do that.

If anyone's to blame it's EA. They set the unreasonable deadlines for everything in the first place- had BioWare been allowed to delay development, they would have likely been able to deliver on everything that was promised.

Considering how they keep spouting, "we're not changing our "artistic vision" that is our ending" I'm disinclined to believe it's solely EA's fault. I only blame EA for the fact that they, more-than-likely, forced BioWare to remove Javik from the completed game so they could sell him as DLC.

And they wouldn't have to rework the ending. The Extended Cut DLC, according to their blog, is just going to add epilogue cinematics and cut scenes that expand on the ending.

Looking at BioWare's past, my argument is still "valid."

The company can't return to those roots they are completely held by EA. You're never going to see that Bioware again unfortunately. Especially considering KOTOR is a Lucas arts title.

Honestly, it didn't do much other than put a perspective on the Protheans.

It was a Collector's Edition-only DLC, at least they gave it out to us an optional buy.

If you paid attention, the technology you used to beat the reapers wasn't developed by Protheans, it was developed my dozens of cycles before them--no including the Citadel, created by THE REAPERS.

Wrong--that DLC wasn't on the disc. It's a separate expansion of the game, like any other DLC.

Do I think it should have been $10 fucking dollars? Hell no.

But though it's a big part of the lore, so is a lot of the universe. It never goes fully in depth, and it's your choice whether you buy it or not.

Did I personally enjoy the From Ashes DLC? Of course. But it's one DLC pack that wasn't necessary or essential to fully enjoy the game. Hell, Javik was an asshole anyway.

Javik was a pessimistic, one-track mind character that had a change of heart in the last 20 minutes.

And please, open my eyes to how it was on the disc. If it truly was, show me the proof.
