Can someone please explain to me why everyone hates Nickelback? I understand why the alternative music community doesn't like them (because they went mainstream) but don't get why people in general hate it. I mean shit people there are more Dubstep fans than Nickelback. Answers like "their music is shit" don't count.

Back when they were more of a soft rock band they were actually pretty good, ("If Everyone Cared", "Saving Me", "Photograph") but then they started taking the hard rock path and their riffs just all started sounding the same song after song, until they were just another generic group with little to no originality thrown in.
The fact that they're played on the radio so much doesn't help either, but then again, people tend to hate artists who get played a lot anyway. But in conclusion, I don't hate Nickelback; their musical style is, if anything, too dated and overdone to be very enjoyable.

I just straight up do not enjoy their music. I like their style of music and that but generally, I just don't enjoy their music. Decent band, but I just don't like the sound. However, some of the shit they get is uncalled for.
Probably a minority view here but I think it's the same for Bieber. Hate his music, hate the sound of it. But the kid's got talent. It's just not my thing, and it's the same for most people. People like his music, so he has a right to be in the media. The majority want to hear from him and hear about him.
People should seriously lay off the kid... Hasn't he got enough to deal with coming to terms with his sexuality?

Im not gonna reply with "their music is shit" like you said, but I'm not generally a fan. Not because everyone on FJ hates them, but just because their music is something that I would mostly likely not sit down and listen to, especially when I have artists like Judas Priest and Accept in my playlists as well. I mean, they have one or two pretty cool songs, but not everyone has to like them, and not everyone has to hate them. It's called an opinion, for any of those stereotypical FJ users that constantly poison FJ.

The only answers I've found to why everyone seems to think it sucks is because ''LOL DUBSTEP MUCH BETTR FCK NICKEBLCAK GAY MUSIC LOL''.
