That isn't how God claims to work. He doesn't stand there and wait for us to fuck up, but instead loves us and is always willing to forgive.

well in the end there is ultimate judgement and God will defeat sin, but hey man I'm not a preacher and you probably won't listen anyway.

so he defined sin, created us, knew we would sin, and allowed us to do so, and then he punishes us for it? seems legit
#285 to #251 - N. Korean citizen (04/04/2012) [-]
no, he punishes us if we don't say we're sorry

It's hard to explain, and i realize that I can't adequately do so because, quite frankly, I don't claim to have it all figured out. Honestly though, I believe what I believe, and you guys can, with all due respect, deal with it.

Hey, I have no problem with that. Just keep it out of the laws.

Deal? I wasn't exactly aware of what laws it was in.

The ban against gay marriage, for starters. It's also the platform for pro-lifers trying to repeal Rowe v, Wade. Then, of course, there are other things on state level constitutions, like in Arkansas, an atheist can't be an elected official or serve as a witness in court. Christianity does tend to stick its nose into politics, which is where I start having issues with it.
