Thank YOU.... Its the same here... except I use my mac for programming and not photo editing and I have different Specs on my PC. Overall both Operating Systems have advantages, but there isn't one that is better overall. Except for Linux!

You're a brave person defending Mac products on FJ, and I applaud you for it. Just wanna throw it out there that there are decent equivalents to the Mac software for editing photo's (even GIMP, which is free, is pretty damn good as you can get custom plug ins, which usually means getting features from Photoshop). And for Final Cut Pro there's Sony Vegas 9/10 (which is easy as fuck to pirate).

I mainly use the Apple software and whatnot because
A: I get the software legitimately for free as a benefit of working for Apple.
B: I get the computers cheaper.

I don't really bother with other programs when I can get very impressive programs for free.

My mac cost 600 bucks and works perfectly. Plays all Valve games and the Cods that I want, ie cod 4. I would get battlefield but I already have it on PS3. I can game on my mac, but what I prefer is the iWork and the Mission control.

Mission control and the gesture controls are probably my favorite features of Lion.
There are many more but those two are ones that I use so often that I am amazed how I ever lived without them.

My mini has less memory and storage than the ones in the post but has the same graphics card and a dual processor, etc. Only cost 599$ and for extra memory I have a family hard disk with 24 tb so I won't run out anytime soon.

I work for Apple and am honestly astonished to not see as many Mac Mini sales as anything else. It is an absolutely brilliant machine.

Mine has the CD drive separate, I think it's the newest. I got it not a long time ago.

Ahh yes that is the newest version. The mid-2011. Brilliant design. Only a small fan is required for it. The entire body being made of aluminium is used as a heat sink radiating off head instead of damaging the internals.
Similar to the design of a 21.5" or 27" iMac. They appear to run hot but that is by brilliant design, not poor design.

No. If you get a tablet on a PC, Mac becomes useless and too expensive, unless you want to use Mac-specific editing programs, in which case it's even more expensive and less efficient.

ok sure, but in my opinion, all apples are good for is the touchscreen. so their computers are just useless.

I use PC for 3DS MAX, Maya, Softimage, VRAY rendering (and sometimes Maxwell/Indigo), After Effects, Photoshop, and Komplete Kontakt music studio.... Your point is invalidated.

The reason people think Mac is better at photoshop is because they have top of the line screens that aren't that common in the thousands of crappy monitors, and they are programmed so that they have almost PERFECT screen-to-paper coloring... It took me literally DAYS of configuration to get my PC like that, but now that it is, I have two monitors with the only benefit Macs have ever had...

tl;dr
The real comparison is that a Mac is a luxury cruise ship. It's absolutely gorgeous and all you have to do is sit back and relax. But it will only take you ONE specific place and very slowly... A PC is a flying destroyer with wheels and interstellar warp drives. You can put it on cruise control and it'll be pretty shitty and go wherever you want it to go. But if you really want to, you can read the manual and learn how to drive it and nothing in the damned universe can compare.

Going to have to respectfully disagree. You are comparing Hardware and Software. That is like comparing Baseball to french toast. Hardware wise they are exactly the same. Voltage depending on the manufacturing process. Software is a whole other story. OSX ML is great and everything but at 6,000 more im going to stick with pirated Win 7 Ult! Then again that is my 2cents.

The thing is a PC can edit just as well as a Mac, I always thought of that as a bad excuse.

There are many similar programs and many the same programs on both.

windows isnt as good at it, mac is designed for graphic designers, videographers, photographers, etc.

But what is the difference in it? I seen videos Photoshop works the same after effects works the same.

Well you can also build your own machine and buy the OS for like 30 bucks as long as you make it mac compatible. It's ridiculous that apple charges so much for their computers when their OS is cheap as shit.

Why would you not use a PC for photo/mulitmedia editing? I use mine for both and i have never ever had an issue.

Well some plugins aren't available for Maya and vice versa. I've heard Maya is a bit more animator/production friendly, where as Max is a bit better for game art (which is what I mainly do).
