Most likely they operate under the same principle as Star Trek's "Prime Directive". As in they don't interfere with primitive cultures.

then why the hell did they go down there in person? You'd think if they had the technology to travel between galaxies (or have advanced space travel at all, for that matter), they'd have probes.

The spot they landed in was pretty remote.Most likely it was just some sort of scouting party.

Except for the fact that he actually changes personalities compared to other characters and it took more time with CGI to make him. Still though, Episode I, II, and III sucked. Just my two cents chap!

i agree - though i do enjoy some of the musical scores in the prequels, the movies just didn't follow a story up to par with the originals (in my opinion)

Couldn't agree with you more, most people are ignorant because "too much CGI was used." One of the reasons Lucas waited was for technology to get upgraded to where he could create things such as Coruscant and the droid army. Bottom line - all the films are great, it's Star Wars, hell yeah.

The prequel movies weren't terrible movies. Everyone just expected a lot more from the name of a movie trilogy that reshaped the way people view space flight in the future. George Lucas's opinions on set went unquestioned and unchallenged because of his past success and current authority. Thus improvements that might have been made to the story (and the acting for the part of Anakin Skywalker) were never addressed because everyone was kissing his ass. I personally liked episode I & III enough, they could have been better though. In Lucus's defence, hindsight is 20/20.

One of the main things was the Force just being an organism in your blood, and a lot of them weren't very well thought out. Plus, the people just had much higher expectations, and Lucas didn't meet them. Also, Jar Jar.

because they were bad movies, and in my personal experience episodes I and II were the only ones i didnt like back before i understood what made up good stories
